The Malta Transport Authority said that due to emergency repair works being carried out along Nikola Saura Street, in Rabat, the road from the junction with St Publius Street up to High Street will be temporarily made one-way southbound except for route buses.

Traffic heading towards Saqqajja from the Buskett and Nigret areas will be diverted towards St Paul's Street and the Mtarfa Bypass. Traffic travelling towards Saqqajja from Borg Olivier Street will be diverted to College Street.

Motorists were advised to proceed with caution and to make use of the Mtarfa Bypass. The diversion was made necessary by the collapse of a wall along Nikola Saura Street. In view of the archaeological importance of the wall, repair work is being carried out by the Malta Transport Authority in collaboration with The Malta Centre for Restoration.
