UPDATED 4.10pm:

Joggers on the popular Sliema front got more than they bargained for this morning when a naked man was seen casually jogging without a care in the world.

A passer-by said the man, believed to be Japanese, was not aggressive in any way.

"He was jogging at first and tried to enter the Balluta church for some reason but the doors were locked so he couldn't go in... So he turned around and crossed the road and started taking a stroll towards St Julian's, stopping at some time to face the sun. At one point he was seen reaching out towards the sky like he was sunbathing or meditating.

"He didn't seem to notice people around him and didn't approach anyone. He just seemed to enjoy the moment let's say.

When the police showed up he had just passed Tower supermarket in Sliema. He calmly lay down and they took him into the vehicle without any resistance.

One tends to expect the unexpected when walking the Sliema front these days.

Yesterday the statue of Sri Chinmoy was seen with a bra hanging from it.
