An Azzjoni Nazzjonali election billboard in Balzan expressing the promise that the newly-formed party will close down the Good Shepherd Refugee Open Centre in the town was criticised by Mgr Philip Calleja, director of the Emigrants' Commission.

Mgr Calleja told The times he was shocked by such a pledge.

The billboard was placed in Balzan Square, around the corner from the open centre.
