The knowledge foundation formed at university can be essential to provide direction in achieving objectives, Susanna Thede,from the Institute of European Studies, told graduates yesterday.

She urged those at the ceremony to see themselves not as individuals but as components of a whole.

Dr Thede also said that the younger generation which was represented there could give hope for the future.

“In some ways, you will be burdened by the problems that prior generations were unable to solve. I am hopeful that you will be able to do better,” she said.

Dr Kenneth Grima, who obtained a doctorate in philosophy, thanked those who had helped him in his four-year journey and also urged those present to never give up, even when things seemed impossible.
