The proceeds from the sale of a booklet containing recipes, puzzles and educational information for the family were presented to Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija - the Park of Friendship - of Marsascala.

The sum raised from the booklet, that cost Lm1.50, amounted to Lm15,000. The money was presented to the park by Nadia Vella Cappello on behalf of the Helping Hands Foundation.

A second booklet, due to be published in the coming months, will also raise funds for the Park of Friendship which provides free services to persons with a disability.

The foundation said the second booklet will be bigger and better with numerous quizzes and competitions offering prizes.

The park intends to use the money for various disability services including the multi-sensory project which will provide an environment for people with special needs to enjoy a wide range of sensory experiences for therapy, learning, relaxation and fun.

A young and enthusiastic sales team from the Helping Hands Foundation is still visiting offices, homes and contacting people in Malta and Gozo to promote the booklet and also to inform the public about the work done by the organisation with a view to raise funds for its running.
