Sports Parliamentary Secretary Chris Agius, 54, was hit by a car while crossing the road in Cospicua this morning, fracturing his leg as a result.

The incident happened at around 8.15am on Triq Santa Tereża, with Mr Agius hit at a pedestrian crossing. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The car that hit Mr Agius was being driven by a 43-year-old woman from Birkirkara.

Mr Agius' office confirmed the incident.
