A 21-year-old man was yesterday charged with tampering with a Maltese passport.

The Ta' Xbiex man pleaded not guilty to tampering with the document and making malicious use of it.

He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm500.

Police Inspectors Sandro Zarb and Angelo Caruana prosecuted.

Lawyer Chris Cilia appeared for the defendent.
