The Heritage Patrimonju Mosti has accused the developers of apartments and garages at Wied il-Ghasel valley of defying the law.

The organisation claimed in a statement this morning that a decision by the court on a warrant of prohibitory injunction residents filed to stop the development on May 20 was still pending.

The organisation said that on Friday two long holes were drilled into the wall touching that of the property next door and two long metal rods were then hammered into the wall.

The tips were left exposed by around half a foot and black Portland cement was added to the spot where the rods enter the wall.

The organisation said that in carrying out this work, the developers had breached the conditions of the warrant.

"This surely constitutes an act of extreme arrogance, defiance and provocation in the face of both the residents and the courts of law.

"It is also a breach of the conditions imposed by the said courts upon issue of the warrant, thus in itself a breach of law," Heritage Patrimonju Mosti said.

It said that yesterday evening a notice saying "Official site notices and Official no-parking permit – valid indefinitely" was painted all over the facade of the development.

The organisation said that the warrant was still under deliberation as at noon yesterday and it has not been informed since that any decision had been taken.
