The Jesuit Fathers thought it fit to write on those illegal immigrants with whom we have been so hopelessly encumbered.

I was a student at St Aloysius' College once. That was the time when we all sang "Malta is for the Maltese" and when we also resisted the pressures of our Italian masters against the Maltese language. Were we patriots or racists then?

But now times seem to have changed for the worse, of course. We are now expected to shed crocodile tears for those who are Muslims by faith, hate the presence of the crucifix and, last but not least, call us all Christian infidels.
