Hibernians’ Chad Patus is the BOV Basketball Men’s Division One player of the Month for February 2018. The Canadian forward won his sixth individual award for his performances during the month of February 2018. Chad totalled 89 points in 4 matches (22.25ppg) during February including 23 points in the final of the Louis Borg Cup and another 22 points in the semi-final of the BOV KO Competition. Averaging 68% from the three point line, he was the top three-point scorer during the month. Chad also averaged 12.47 rebounds, 3.12 assists and suffered 4 fouls per game.

Samantha Brincat won her third individual award in the Women’s league. The Australian-Maltese averaged 16.80ppg (84 points in 5 matches) with 85% from the free-throw line, 52% from the field and 38% from the three-point line, with 12 three pointers, the highest in the women’s league during this period, while attracting 5 fouls per game (25 in 5 games).

Albert Serra (Gzira Athleta) won the award for the BOV Men’s Amateur League. The 6’4” Spaniard made a fast impression in his first season in Malta obtaining no less than 90 points in 4 matches during February. With an astounding 83% from the field (33 from 40), 54% from the free-throw line and 56% (9 from 16) from the distance, he was an automatic choice for this award.
