A pedestrian was gravely injured yesterday after being hit by a car in Valletta. 

Police said that a 56-year-old Hungarian man was hit by a Toyota Auris being driven by a 51-year-old man from San Ġwann at around 7 pm on St Paul's Street. 

The victim was treated by a medical team on site and was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified as having suffered grievous injuries. 

A police investigation is still ongoing.
