A 72-year-old pedestrian was killed this morning when he was hit by a car on Aldo Moro Road in Marsa, police said. 

The elderly Marsa resident was hit by a Citroen Cactus being driven by a 37-year-old Żabbar man at around 7am this morning. 

An ambulance rushed the man to Mater Dei Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

An inquiry into the case is underway and police say they are investigating further.
