Pedestrian seriously injured in Attard, motorcyclist involved in Gzira accident

The pedestrian was crossing the road near Mt Carmel Hospital

A woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car on the Rabat road early on Wednesday, while a motorcyclist was hospitalised after a crash in Gzira a couple of hours later. 

The first accident happened at about 7.20am as the woman, 29, who is from St Paul's Bay, was crossing the road near Mt Carmel Hospital, Attard.

The car, a Mazda Demio, was being driven by a woman from Rabat, who was unhurt.

The second accident occurred at about 9am when a 48-year-old woman from Birkirkara was injured when her motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car. The accident occurred at Gzira seafront. The car, a Toyota Vitz, was being driven by a 26-year-old man from Zejtun. 

A car and a bus were also involved in a late-morning collision near the garanries in Floriana. It was not immediately clear if anyone was hurt.
