The Pembroke Athleta Football Nursery hosted young members of the Juventus Football School during the Easter period. The group consisted of 60 players plus several Italian coaches and parents.

The visit of the Juventus School to the Pembroke ground came about thanks to the contacts Charles Borg, Pembroke's first-team coach, has with the youth sector of the Serie A club.

Members of the Juventus Football School enjoyed a cruise in the Mediterranean last week, calling at various ports where friendly games and training sessions were organised as part of the school's programme.

Children aged six to 15 from the Pembroke Athleta Football Nursery were thrilled to spend a whole morning playing friendly matches against their guests from Juventus.

The directors of the Juventus School also chose the Pembroke Athleta ground, which has a new artificial turf pitch, to hold a training session for their children in the afternoon, having found the facilities and environment much to their liking.

In a statement, Pembroke Athleta said this event was a memorable experience for their nursery members and they look forward to similar opportunities in the near future.
