Pensioners' arrears payment

The Social Security Department is undergoing intensive work to be able to pay arrears to pensioners, the General Workers' Union said yesterday.

Yesterday morning the union's Pensioners' Association had a meeting with officials from the Social Security Department, during which the two parties discussed arrears certain pensioners are owed.

During the meeting the association was informed about the exercise which aims to lead to the arrears being paid by the end of January.

Yesterday's meeting was the second during which the two parties discussed the issue of arrears.
