Family and Social Solidarity Minister Dolores Cristina has received delegations from a number of pensioners' organisations in recent weeks.

The ministry said the issues discussed included pensions reform in general, the revision of pensions, anomalies in pensions, services for the elderly and the possibility of extending the use of the Kartanzjan, which entitles the elderly to certain discounts and other privileges.

Among the organisations were the National Council for the Elderly, the National Association of Pensioners, Barclays Bank Pensioners Association, the Police Pensioners' Association, the RAF Pensioners Association and the Pensioners' Association of the General Workers' Union.

The ministry said delegates were invited to express their concerns, proposals and outstanding issues.
