Construction worker seriously hurt in three-storey fall in Santa Venera

Man fell down the building's shaft

A construction worker has been seriously injured after falling three storeys into a shaft while working inside a property in Santa Venera. 

Police said the fall was reported at around 12pm in a property on Triq Carini. The injured man has not been identified.

Police, Civil Protection Department officers and Occupational Health and Safety Authority officials went to the site of the accident.

A medical team was called to the scene, and the man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where his injuries were later certified as serious.

Police and OHSA investigations are ongoing while Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry.
