British retail entrepreneur Philip Green says he has completed the acquisition of the British arm of French clothing chain Etam for an undisclosed sum. "It's completed," Mr Green told Reuters yesterday, but declined to say how much he had paid for the owner of the Tammy and Emily May brands.
"It's a strategic business we're in, we like the Tammy brand and at the moment it's a competitor to (our) Dorothy Perkins," Mr Green said. Shares in Etam were suspended on the Paris bourse pending a statement.
