Vodafone has just donated 10 mobile phones, including a Vodafone connection, to the Deaf People's Association to help the association's efforts to integrate deaf people better and provide them with the opportunity to stay connected with society.

The phones will be used by the association to help members with various levels of deafness to be able to communicate with each other and with others.

In Malta the hearing impaired population exceeds 3,000 persons. Modern technology such as e-mail, chat and SMS helps deaf people to be able to work and interact with the rest of society with relative ease and total mobility and offers a marked improvement to the quality of life of the people concerned.
