I wish to congratulate Din l-Art Helwa for the lecture by Godfrey Wettinger on place names and surnames in Malta's mediaeval history.

Among other things, Prof. Wettinger's highly interesting presentation undoubtedly made many of those present ever more conscious of the historical legacy left in the way of the multitude of Maltese place names which he researched.

It is with regret that many of these ancient toponyms have disappeared or are presently facing extinction.

Well done again to Din l-Art Helwa.
