Planned regeneration of Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici Square in Cospicua

The square is set to be upgraded with modernised infrastructure, new benches and trees

Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici Square in Cospicua is set to be regenerated, the government announced Thursday.

The square is set to be upgraded with modernised infrastructure, new benches and trees.

The project will be led by the local council with the support of the government.

Announcing the project, Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri said the initiative reflected the government’s commitment to the Cottonera, which would continue “with more projects, from open spaces to embellishment initiatives and new facilities across different sectors”.

Cospicua mayor Marco Agius said the enhancement had long been awaited by residents and would strengthen the identity of the area and improve the life of the community.

Funds for the project are being provided by the National Development and Social Fund.
