Three Gharb football club officials were yesterday charged with employing a foreigner without a valid work permit.

The officials - Joseph Cauchi, 38, Louis Apap, 56 and Mario Saliba, 40, were also accused of failing to notify the Employment and Training Corporation of a player's employment. The charges follow the arrest of a Nigerian player during half time at a football match at the Gozo stadium last Thursday. The player's visa had expired.
