Over 70 items are being added to the Playmobil range this year by toy professionals from Germany, Spain and Malta.

The Malta plant produces a handsome percentage of the entire Playmobil production and is responsible for the entire production of the Playmobil figures. It is calculated that one such figure is produced every two minutes.

Playmobil designers have come up with a range of novelties from the police, home, airport, construction and animal worlds, to name but a few.

The limited-edition Pirate Sloop, which will be out around summer, is expected to be another mega-seller.

Also much awaited is Noah's Ark, a truly detailed portrayal of a unique and popular Bible story, the company said.
