A 44-year-old man was yesterday given a one-year jail term suspended for three years after he admitted to assaulting and slightly injuring three police constables.

Guzeppi Callus, of Mtarfa, also admitted to threatening the three constables, in Birzebbugia on May 23 at about 5.30 p.m.

Magistrate Saviour Demicoli noted that Callus had filed an early guilty plea and had apologised for his actions.

He was bound not to approach the three constables for a year against a Lm100 fine in default.
