Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi paid a visit to the home décor showroom of Construct Furniture Ltd, located in the heart of the commercial district in Tripoli, during his official visit to Libya this week.
Company director Adolfo Camilleri welcomed the Prime Minister, who was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Tonio Borg, Foreign Minister Michael Frendo and a high-level Maltese delegation as well as Libyan government officials.
"The Prime Minister was impressed with our furniture product and workmanship that was installed at the newly inaugurated Maltese Consulate in Tripoli. When I explained to him our growth projections in expanding our retail trade in Libya he asked to visit our showroom and I felt honoured to host him to our new project in this country."
A spokesman for the Prime Minister said: "The Prime Minister's appreciation of this enterprising furniture company in setting its growth vision by expanding abroad is a concrete example of how his statements with regards to the commercial role of Malta within the Libyan market could be put into action".
The showroom building is on three floors with 428 square metres on each ground, displaying a wide product range around a home setting concept showcasing modern and traditional kitchens, leather and fabric sofas, wall units and complements, together with main and spare bedrooms, office furniture, internal wooden doors combined with an exclusive selection of gifts and accessories.
