The Nationalist Party has set up a focus group made up of environmentalists, students and people from the private and social sectors to advise it on climate change.

The party said the aim of the focus group is to analyse local and international developments in climate change and make suggestions on action that could be taken by the party. The focus group will also be analysing the government's recent report on climate change.

The group is headed by Alan Deidun, an environmentalist and member of non-governmental organisation Nature Trust.

The other members are the University's sociology department head Mark Anthony Falzon, lawyer Robert Tufigno, architect David Felice, Edible Oil company managing director Pippo Psaila, youth studies lecturer Andrew Azzopardi, girl guides Chief Commissioner Lara Tonna, management engineer Ryan Callus, lawyer Marthese Portelli, student Mariella Rapa and student rapporteur Yolande Spiteri.
