The Nationalist Party yesterday presented the 77 candidates who have so far been approved to contest the next round of local council elections due in March 2003.

The PN said in a statement that 17 per cent of the candidates are young people, and 23 per cent are female. More candidates are expected to be added to the list in the future.

The candidates yesterday attended a seminar organised at AZAD in Valletta, during which Deputy Leader Lawrence Gonzi outlined some of the government's achievements over the past four years.
