The Nationalist Party has welcomed the agreement which will see Libya sell energy products to Malta at preferential rates.

The party augured that the memorandum of understanding signed this morning, would lead to a final agreement which would benefit consumers.

There was no doubt, the PN said, that the support given by Malta to the Libyan people during the uprising of 2011 served as a good basis for the development of relations between the two countries.

The PN also augured that Malta would continue to serve as a bridge between North African and the EU, which was the message which Malta sought to convey at the 5+5 summit held in Malta last year.
