The police yesterday denied a report in It-Torca that a case involving child pornography would have been hidden from the public were it not for a story in l-orizzont of September 4.

The police said in a statement that they filed charges in court against the two people involved on August 28. The case was to have been heard in district sittings, but investigations revealed the case to be more serious and the case was therefore assigned to Magistrate A. Mizzi on September 3.

The sequence of events showed that the police had hidden nothing and the case was followed carefully and seriously, the statement said.
