The police have filed charges against GRTU Vice-President Mario Debono, 43 of St Julians, Jean-Paul Tabone, 42 of Balzan and Mark Louis Tabone, 41 of Ibrag, for allegedly importing medicines without a licence and breaching the Medicine Act.

The three, who are directors of a pharmaceutical company, will also be charged with breaching intellectual property rights.

The case will be heard before Magistrate Antonio Mizzi on May 7.

Mr Debono last week said he was suspending himself from vice-president of the GRTU for the duration of the case.
