Ten people were arrested on Tuesday morning in police raid on a suspected cocaine trafficking facility in Valletta and a horse stable in Marsa.  

Police sources said the raid had been carried out on two residences on Old Hospital Street by officers from the Major Crimes Unit, the Special Interventions Unit, and the Valletta district.  

In a statement on Tuesday afternoon, police said that 10 people had been arrested in the operation.  

Police said they had been carrying out surveillance on a 30-year-old Maltese woman and a 31-year-old foreign man.

They are suspected of carrying out a drug trafficking operation in Valletta.  

Police arrested the two suspects at 6.30 am on Tuesday and then carried out a raid on the two properties arresting seven other people.

Police seized suspected cocaine and cannabis along with an amount of cash, jewellery, and other items related to drug trafficking.  

Police then carried out a search on a horse stable in Marsa’s Triq it-Tiġrija. 

A 50-year-old Maltese man from Żejtun was put in handcuffs after they found cocaine, cannabis, and synthetic drugs that had been packaged to be sold were being stored in the stable.
