The police force is in the process of recruiting 100 constables, and applications are being received at police headquarters, the Home Affairs Ministry said. 

229 new constables have been recruited in the past two-and-a-half years.

Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said this investment confirmed the government's commitment to strengthening the security of the country.

The Police Force currently has 2,100 members, the biggest in five years.  1,050 officers are stationed in Police Districts  and 1,135 are in the various specialised squads.

The recruitment process will be divided into three parts; physical, interview and medical examination.
