A policeman has been granted bail against a personal guarantee of €1,000 after he pleaded not guilty to indecently assaulting two women who are in Malta to study English.

PC Carl Vella, 22, of Naxxar denied that he indecently assaulted the two women in St Julian's last Tuesday, breaching the peace, assaulting three police officers and committing a crime he was duty bound to prevent.

The women testified behind closed doors.
