Major-General Anthony Ward-Booth, a British officer who set up the Parachute Regiment's first polo team while serving in Malta, has died aged 75.

He commanded the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment 1967-69 and the 16th Parachute Brigade 1970-73 before becoming director, Army Air Corps and later GOC Western District. He retired in 1982.
