Popular Marsascala bay reopened for swimming

Health authorities had warned against bathing in Fajata and St Thomas Bay last week

Health authorities have lifted a warning against bathing in Fajata and St Thomas Bay in Marsascala.

Last week, authorities warned against entering the water of the popular bathing spot after it became contaminated with foul water from a rainwater culvert.

On Thursday, however, the Environmental Health Directorate said "repeated" subsequent water tests had indicated the site was "fit for bathing and thus the health warning is hereby being lifted".
