Posedown at Bertu's Gym

The Bertu's Gym Christmas Bodybuilding posedown, now in its 10th year, will take place on December 4 at 10 a.m. at the Gharghur Oratory hall.

This has been yet another successful year for Bertu's Gym with a number of bodybuilders who train regularly at the gym, representing their respective associations in competitions overseas.

Ralph de Celis (picture), winner of the MABBA Mr Malta title 2005, and Disma Azzopardi, overall runner-up and winner of the Masters category, took part in an IFBB tournament in Italy where they were accompanied by Mario Pace, president of MABBA. Azzopardi gained a prestigious result by winning the bronze medal in his category.

Pierre Mifsud, Anton Micallef and Jonathan Debono represented NABBA in the Mr Universe competition, held in England. Vince Balzan, president of NABBA, headed the Maltese team at the Mr Universe event.

Gym administrator Bertu Camilleri congratulated the bodybuilders for their fine results which, he said, should motivate local performers to keep their dedicated approach throughout the coming year.
