Volunteers are needed to participate in Klabbsajf 2010, coordinated by Aġenzija Appoġġ and Aċċess Community Resource Centre in Vittoriosa, together with St Margaret College and the Foundation for Educational Services, for children aged between five and 12, from Cottonera and Kalkara.

Klabbsajf offers alternative activities within the community for children during their summer holidays. The aim is to stimulate children's creativity and sensitivity towards socio-cultural subjects, by means of various educational practices.

Volunteers' roles include helping in the planning and preparation of these activities, monitoring children under the supervision of professional staff, as well as carrying out activities.

Sessions include drama, outings, sports and crafts. Volunteers will receive the necessary training in planning skills, children's development, caring for children, and team building. This training will start at the beginning of July.

Volunteers must be 16 years or older, and available for three half-days a week - mornings only - starting from the beginning of July and ending mid-September.

Applicants must enjoy working with children, be motivated, and be ready to form part of a team.

Those interested should contact Ilona Attard for further details on 2398 5122 or via e-mail on ilona.attard@gov.mt. A copy of the application form can also be downloaded from www.appogg.gov.mt.

Aġenzija Appoġġ forms part of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, which also incorporates Aġenzija Sedqa (www.sedqa.gov.mt) and Aġenzija Sapport (www.sapport.gov.mt).
