Possible delays in Gozo Channel ferry service

Gozo Channel last week said its ferry service between Mgarr and Cirkewwa may be disrupted this weekend and early into next week.

Berth No. 3 at Mgarr has been allotted to a vessel unloading its cargo directly at Gozo and, as a result, only two berths remain available for Gozo Channel's passenger and ro/ro service.

Consequently of only two ferries will be operating instead of the normal three. During this period Gozo Channel's third vessel will have to berth at Sa Maison and will not be readily available when a third vessel is required for additional trips when vehicles and passengers accumulate at either Cirkewwa or Mgarr.

To reduce the inconvenience of those travelling on its regular service, Gozo Channel will be deploying the m/v Malita and m/v Gaudos on this route and will be using its smaller vessel - m/v Calypso - for the cargo trip from Sa Maison.
