Postcode directory needed

The acting chief executive of Maltapost, Frank Dimech, complained recently that people were not using the postcode, which was confusing postal sorters, and so delaying the mail.

Does Mr Dimech know that the first and only postcode directory was published in 1991 - 11 years ago? Does he realise that since then, I would say hundreds of streets which were known as New Street off... now actually have names? Is it not about time that a new directory is issued without further delay?

Another point he raised was the delivery of letters the day after they are posted.

I am sure he is aware that until a few weeks ago letters posted before 7 a.m. were delivered the same day. So certainly here we have regress, rather than progress.

As I am writing about Maltapost I would like to put on record the excellent service given by the postmen and all staff at Balzan post office.
