The companies responsible for the bus shelters are furious over A4-sized posters promoting a forthcoming event that are being stuck to the glass panels of the shelters with permanent glue.
Their removal is considered by the companies to be an unnecessary expense and, to make matters worse, they are causing irreparable damage to the shelters. Faces Displays Ltd and Faces Consultants Ltd are responsible for the supply, installation and maintenance of the recently installed bus shelters across Malta and Gozo.
The companies said they have invested Lm1 million into the project and are financing it through advertising revenues at no cost to the local authorities and to the tax payer. The shelters are cleaned every 10 days.
The poster campaign started three weeks ago but once the first batch were removed, others were put up. Reports have been filed with the relevant police stations.
