The director of the Tourism Research Centre of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Prof. Zhang Guangrui is to speak about the potential of Chinese tourism to Malta during a seminar at the Westin Dragonara Hotel in St Julian's today at 10 a.m.

The seminar is being organised by the Malta Tourism Authority.

Over the past 20 years, Prof. Zhang has studied the tourism potential of countries such as the UK, the US, Australia, Finland, Spain and India.

Prof. Zhang is also president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, international editor of India's Tourism and Leisure Study and senior consultant to Finland's Tourism Development Centre.

The seminar is open to members of the travel trade interested in learning more about the tourism market in China, including English language schools, casinos and hotels.
