The 2003 vintage of the award winning Cusumano wines Noa and Sagana are finally in Malta after a long wait and wine enthusiasts, specialist wine shops, restaurants and wine-bars have been stocking up on the two premium Sicilian wines which are only available in limited quantities.
Both the Noa 2003, a blend of Nero d'Avola, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and the Sagana 2003, made from the indigenous Sicilian grape Nero D'Avola were given the highest possible rating by the Gambero Rosso Italian wine guide - the three glasses award.
Cusumano was in fact one of two Sicilian wineries which produced two three-glasses wine in 2003.
Cusumano is a relatively new Sicilian wine company which has taken the wine scene by storm to the extent that their Noa is already being considered as a cult wine in various important wine markets including the United States, Germany and Japan.
Diego Cusumano has this year decided to allocate the wines according to the size of the markets. Moreover, these will be dispatched in two equal consignments.
This is being done since the demand for the wines has always exceeded supply over the past years.
