Preparations for Holy Week events in Għajnsielem gathering pace

A collaboration of the Events Team Għajnsielem, Għaqda Armar Għajnsielem and the Għajnsielem Dramatic Association

Preparations are in full swing in Għajnsielem for several events marking Holy Week celebrations.

The events, organised through the collaboration of the Events Team Għajnsielem, Għaqda Armar Għajnsielem and the Għajnsielem Dramatic Association, together with the support of Għajnsielem parish, including Archpriest Joseph Hili, features an installation, titled The Cross – Jesus and You, being set up in the Għajnsielem square.

Another activity is a ‘living cenacle’ where actors will present a live representation of the Last Supper during Holy Week. As part of the experience, food will be prepared and cooked on site, recreating the atmosphere of the Biblical scene.

Meanwhile, the Għajnsielem Dramatic Association will stage a representation of Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem on Sunday, March 29, at 9am, and a representation of The Last Supper on Thursday, April 2, (Maundy Thursday) between 8.30 and 11.30pm, and on Good Friday, from 9 till 11.30am.
