The Malta Centre for Restoration (MCR) will be holding a basic course in conservation and restoration. The 86-hour course will be held every Saturday between March 29 and July12.
The course will comprise theory topics covering the following:
Introduction to Conservation and Restoration and to Conservation Science;
History of Art, History of Architecture and Archaeology for Conservation;
Artistic techniques: Painting, Sculpture, Textiles, Paper and Books.
Practical sessions will be held covering Line Drawing; Paintings; Sculpture; Textiles; and Books and Paper.
The preparatory course, which is open to a maximum of 40 students, may be taken on its own as well as in preparation for the entrance exam held regularly for the admission of students for the Bachelor in Conservation Studies degree course.
The fee for the preparatory course is Lm30 for students and Lm 60 for non-students.
