On Friday, May 21, the Foundation for Human Resources Development organised its fourth annual presentation ceremony as the local agent for the Centre for Labour Market Studies (CLMS) of the University of Leicester.
The ceremony, held at the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise in Valletta, was presided over by Edwin Vassallo, Parliamentary Secretary for Small Businesses and the Self-Employed, two representatives from CLMS, Dr Vanessa Beck and Henrietta O'Connor, and FHRD president John Muscat Drago.
No fewer than 30 students were congratulated for having successfully completed their course of study: eight students from the certificate programme, 16 students from the diploma programme; and six students from the Master's programme.
Another 13 M.Sc. students were acknowledged for having completed their studies but who are awaiting confirmation of their overall M.Sc. results from the CLMS External Examination Board, whose role it is to ensure and guarantee that the standards and quality of the candidates graduating are the same throughout all universities.
This event is particularly close to the heart of the FHRD since it celebrates the end of a journey that has many times started with several doubts on one's performance, continued through some difficult moments in which coping with the course was no easy feat but which, through hard work and dedication, has seen its accomplishment with success.
This is the story of most of our course members and we are grateful for sharing in a part of their lives. This achievement, however, would not be possible without the support and involvement of the course members' families, who were also present at the ceremony.
We also acknowledge the number of organisations which have invested in the development of their employees, showing a tangible sign of their belief and commitment to HR development. Representatives of the sponsoring organisations were also present to congratulate these graduates.
The annual presentation ceremony is also an occasion for the FHRD to celebrate the achievement of one of its main objectives - that of furthering the professional development of the human resource profession not only on the individual level, but also on the organisational and ultimately on the national level. Well done to you all and we at FHRD wish you every success for the future.
