Bishop Nikol Cauchi said parents were dutybound to instil a sense of values in their offspring during the presentation of babies to Our Virgin Mary at Ta' Pinu sanctuary last Saturday week.

He referred to the four mothers we should all cherish - our Virgin Mother, natural mother, the Church and our country.

After the homily, Mgr Cauchi blessed the congregation with holy water as parents held lit candles. Each family was then presented with a certificate and holy medal.

Mgr Cauchi was assisted by Fr Renato Borg, Fr Gerald Buhagiar, rector of the sanctuary and Diocesan Ecclesiastical Assistant Carmel Hili.
