President Guido de Marco and the Archbishop, Mgr Joseph Mercieca yesterday visited workers at their places of work in connection with Worker's Day, which is being celebrated tomorrow.

The President visited a number of factories at the Mosta Technopark, where he was welcomed and accompanied by the chairman of the Mosta Technopark Tenants Association, Henry Borg.

He saw Hetronic Malta Ltd, which manufactures control units, and FAL Malta Ltd, which produces wireless communication modules.

Prof. de Marco said the Mosta Technopark, whose workforce would soon exceed 750, was a "success story". It brought together, with a common goal, entrepreneurs who had a dream and motivated workers willing to participate in the process.

He said that Malta had to look beyond the European market and also concentrate on its southern neighbours.

Prof. de Marco ended his visit by meeting the chairman and board of directors of the association, during which he was presented with a donation of Lm500 in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.

With Church activities centring on the theme "Balance between family and work", Mgr Mercieca visited the Paceville establishments Piece of Cake and The Avenue.

Today he will be visiting the employees of the Department of Public Cleansing in Marsa and on Friday he will celebrate Mass at the Statistics Department in Valletta.
