President Eddie Fenech Adami has congratulated George Abela, who is set to succeed him on April 4.

The Department of Information said Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi called at the Palace this morning and officially informed the President on the nomination of Dr Abela.

Dr Fenech Adami then phoned Dr Abela to congratulate him.
