President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca launched HeforShe, a United Nations campaign promoting gender equality, with men and boys taking an active role in the initiative.

The President was chosen by UN Women as one of 10 heads of State. She is the only woman among the 10 and said equality had to be recognised as a fundamental human right that was being denied at an alarming rate.

A campaign video has messages from 10 personalities. They are Edgar Preca, Kevin Valencia, Herman Grech, Xandru Grech, Dominic Fenech, Alan Montanaro, Michael Grech, Red Electrick, Felix Busuttil and Oliver Scicluna.
