President Eddie Fenech Adami yesterday visited the restoration project of the Chapel of Italy in St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta.

Ray Bondin, executive coordinator of the Valletta Rehabilitation Project, explained that the restoration was being financed through the Italian financial protocol. He said the Italian government contributed Lm700,000 and the VRP shouldered the remaining Lm50,000.

Dr Bondin said the project was very complex and included the restoration of stone, wood, marble, bronze and even three paintings. Part of the work is being done in a purposely set up laboratory.
